Core Concepts
Before you start creating, it's helpful to understand the basic building blocks of Termboard:
- Terms: Terms are the fundamental units of your diagram. They represent the main ideas or entities you want to visualize.
- Relations: Relations are the connections between your terms. They show how your terms are related to each other and can be labeled to describe the nature of the relation.
Getting Started in 5 Steps
Let's create a simple diagram to get you started.
Step 1: Create Your First Term
The easiest way to create a new term is to press SHIFT and click anywhere on the canvas. A new term will appear, ready for you to name.
Step 2: Add More Terms
Add a few more terms to your canvas using the same method. You can also right-click on the canvas and select "Add term" from the context menu.
Step 3: Create Relations
To connect your terms, hover over a term until you see a circular up arrow. Click and drag this arrow to another term to create a relation. You can then give the relation a name.
Step 4: Style Your Graph
Use the styling options in the top menu bar to customize the appearance of your terms and relations. You can change colors, shapes, sizes, and more.

Step 5: Save Your Work
To save your diagram, go to File > Save. This will save your work in your browser's local storage. For a more permanent and shareable option, you can save your work as a JSON file by going to File > Save File > JSON.
